What a great "explainer" newsletter. I have read a lot of mystery/suspense/thrillers this year and I had never giving much though about what differentiates one from the other. I think my sweet spot is psychological thrillers and I've read quite a few this year, which is unusual for me as I usually hang out in the historical fiction genre. Great book recommendations also! Thanks
I enjoyed The Widow by Kaira Road, The Lies I Tell by Julie Clark and What Happened to the Bennetts by Lisa Scottoline. I rated these all 3 or 4 stars. I have a hard time giving star ratings to these types of books. There is nothing earth shattering in them, no long lasting memories of them, they are just enjoyable as I'm reading them. I find it much easier to assign a star rating to literary or historical fiction as those genre's stay with me much longer.
I have read 6 of the books on the list that people lie about. I’m surprised “Gone With the Wind” wasn’t on the list, but I suppose most people watch the movie.
Looking forward to Louse Penny’s new mystery coming out.
Great newsletter this month. I have for sure read four of the ten most lied about books, but now I can’t remember if I read Great Expectations, so I can’t definitely add that as a fifth or I might be lying haha. There are some great recommendations this month and I will definitely check out the mysteries. I am in Leslie’s book club and our September read is the best selection we have made in a long time. You are such a prolific reader you may know it, but it is The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams. Thanks for your newsletter. I always enjoy it.

Great newsletter as always, Shayne.
